When I was a kid, my parents took me to this blind fortune teller. He said that I will have 3 major illnesses, and that I'll be rich. So far, I'm not rich but I did have 3 major illnesses. He also did a fortune on my dad and uncle and they were quite true. What do you think?

Thinking of being sick can make a person sick. But thinking of being rich will not make a person rich. To be rich you have to work hard. Also riches are comparative and in the eyes of some the other person might be rich. Fortune teller tell common things that happen to people and we apply it to our life when they happen.

True, but by ways of positive thinking and positive action will get you closer to your riches which ever it may be. Thank you for your response.

As an Asian, I do understand what you are talking about and yes, fortunetelling is so popular in Chinese society. I personally dont and am prohibited to believe in fortune telling because of my faith. Apart from that, I believe that no one can see the future. If the prediction is right, I think it's just a matter of coincidence. But of course, this is a subjective issue. One may say both yes or no :)

I agree with you... coincidence. I choose to believe in myself and like you because of my faith, I use it as a reference or shall I say a goal for me to achieve.

I'm not sure I want to one myself that told me I would have a illness and that I would get married but it wouldn't last and I would get married late in life so we will see. I do have multiple sclrosis and I was married once but it turned out awful.

Of course, I use it as a reference. But, it is difficult in the Asian culture not to believe, where a lot of people know how to do fortune telling. For example, when the older people look at me, they'll say, hum... you have big nose... many money... good... good... Like Jacky Chen...

I've always been extremely skeptical about psychics and fortune telling. One time I was in Wal Mart with one of my friends and a woman approached her and called her by the wrong name. She then told her that she was a psychic and that she would read her future for $10. I thought the whole idea was idiotic considering that she had just called her by the wrong name to pull her in. She proceeded to tell my friend that she would grow up one day to have a kid and be happily married. She offered to read my future for another $10 and I told her no way. They all sound like they are full of it to me.

Good for you. I wouldn't get a fortune done by someone off the street. The fortune guy that my parents went to was from a temple so it has something to do with religion. But, like I said "Reference only"

When I was younger, me and my friends would go to the fortune telling for fun and we never remembered what he said afterwards LOL. I do believe some of the guys are really good and they do give you hints on your future. But I try to avoid doing that now, because I do believe it's more fun to live in the unknown and discover how life turns out to be. It's mysterious and that's why we work harder on it to make it beautiful. And I also heard that your fortune will change according to what the daily goodies or baddies in your life. Great, your fortune teller seems accurate! I am sure if you work on your goal of getting rich, opportunities will come along. Good luck!

Thank you for the encouragment. Like I posted with the previous user, I use I as reference. I like to think of it as the Chinese form of The Secret--Law of attraction. Where if you think it, they will come.
