Pet Peeves

So Mylot, what are YOUR pet peeves? I can't stand the (oh-so-horrible!) sound that some people make when they are chewing gum. All I can think of is the salvia, and how it's lubricating the gum until it makes an annoying "swishswashgulp!" sound as the person chews. This usually drives me nuts, and it's not like I can say anything to the person without getting a weird look in response. There's also the scene where you'll be walking in a crowded hallway, and all of the sudden the people in front of you will stop so they can go and talk to their friends. Which is pretty annoying. If you even dare to act them to move you usually get yelled at for disturbing their conversations. Even if they are standing in the middle of the hallway, blocking your way.

Aaaaargghhh! Now I actually have that gum-chewing sound in my head; I hate it, too. My ex used to smack her gum and "play with it," including making little bubbles inside her mouth and them popping the bubbles between her teeth. Totally gross. But any requests to get her to stop just resulted in a "get over yourself" comment. I find a lot of "mouth sounds" to be on my pet peeve list. My former mother-in-law used to eat with her mouth open a lot, and it made a nasty sound, too. Not to mention it was gross to look at. I used to work in retail, and one of my pet peeves there was people who wouldn't get off the cell phone to place their order, or to check out. I mean COME ON, you can be "out of touch" for the three minutes it takes.
