I had the surgery as planned on 3-13-07. Unfortunately, the left breast didn't survive due to a hematoma and a broken blood vessel. So I had to have another surgery to remove that breast. Needless to say this was very disappointing to me and my plastic surgeon. The next surgery is set for 7-17-07. The doc will put in a tissue expander and get skin from my back to reconstruct the left breast. After he fills the tissue expander with saline until it's the size of the right breast. I'll have a minor surgery to remove the expander and the saline implant will be put in. I never wantd implants but now I have no choice.
I prefer the saline implant over the silicone gel implant. Is there anyone who has had an experience with saline implants?

Oh dear! I'm very sorry for all your problems. My thoughts are with you during this time. I hope everything goes well with the next one. :(

I am a certified mastectomy fitter. I have former patients that have had the both the saline and the silicone implants. Two of them have had their implants removed as they leaked or ruptured. Saline is the safest of the two.
