What do you do when you request a friend on myLot

and then they just hang out there in 'pending land'. It is odd for me and I am not sure what to do. I have more than one. I see that these people have logged on since my request went out because myLot lists when you sent the request under their avatar. And of course, it is listed on their profile the last time they logged on. What would you do???? Just delete it?

I myself never requested someone to be my friend. It isn't because i am being arrogant or don't consider others qualified to be my friends, but because i never want to be an unwanted guest. I have been like this in all my life, and because of this very reason i have few friends in my practical life, but they are really true friends, always ready to stand by me through thick and thin. I don't feel comfortable to ask somebody for something which may bother him/her even if botheration is just in decision making. On the other hand, i never ever had the courage to reject/dishonor, if someone requests/invites to be a friend. I feel it as an honor conferred upon me by the other person. For this very reason, i keep my friends here on Mylot, even if they never respond/comment on my discussions. There is nothing to lose:-)

You know, I never look at my pending friends, because then I would have to think about things like this. If I have people out there that are still pending, I figure they're still considering whether they want to be my friend or not. And I usually just leave them there. It isn't hurting anything to have those sitting there as far as I know. I know that I've requested friendship with a few people lately, and I've noticed that some of them have approved me, since I received messages for them or starting seeing their discussions under "discussions my friends started". However, I do approve people as soon as possible when they try to friend me. I only decline if they have said something that specific offended me, which would have to be some kind of intolerance or hate speech.

I havn't made all that many friend requests, but I admit I am guilty of leaving peoples requests pending. The reason behind some of it is becasue I am looking over their posts and deciding whether I want to accept their request or not. Also sometimes I don't even notice that I have a pending request when I am just logging in for a few minutes. I think that I would just leave it pending and see what happens.

I usually give them a few days to a week. If they're like me, they may be watching my posts and deciding if they want to be my friend. After a week, if they've logged in a few times and haven't responded, then I just withdraw my request.

Honestly, I have the same dilemma as you. And this past few days, I'm contemplating on just deleting myself (^^,LOL) from the friends "pending request" of course. I mean, I find the deny part a little bit hurting. But at least you know as soon as you requested he/she as a friend, that he/she is not interested. Good! So we can move on with Mylotting. But when it comes to pending requests. Sometimes, honestly I feel stupid of wanting this person to be my friend. And I know some are around, online or have logged in already. And they don't want to be friend with a newbie like me. So I'm really contemplating on easing the burden of their shoulder and just clear my request. What do you think Makingpots? And there are some who seems not to have log in too eversince. By the way, thank you for adding me as a friend. Have a nice day! (^^,)
