There are three main aches and pains you can get by working on computers for long periods. You can get eye strain, back pain or aches and pains around the arms. There are numerous things you can do to prevent this from happening. It is advisable to rest your eyes for at least 5 minutes of every hour you are in front of a computer and make sure you do this on a regular basis. Make sure that your wrists are on a neutral position. Adjust your chair or the keyboard and mouse or even use arm rests if it helps. Make sure you sit up straight. Having a chair with lumbar support helps. Using a foot rest can make your body sit straight. It is better to prevent any repetitive strain injury than to cure it. The only cure would be to rest away from computers so the muscles can heal themselves. Hope this helps. Happy computing.

r0131n has explained it well. but i just would like to share this thought. Self -discipline is what we need. Don't use the computer for so long. Anything in excess is harmful as they say, take anything in moderation.

I do not agree that one is considered illiterate if one does not know the abcs of computer :P I do agree that spending long hours in front of the computer can result what you are facing now - problems with the eyes and back, and to some, fingers and wrist. These are the results of prolonged sitting and glueing the eyes to the computer without sufficient breaks in between. It could also be attributed to bad postures. It is suggested that one look far ahead (away from the computer screen) after 15 minutes on the screen. Also, one should leave the seat and take a short walk, either to get a drink or go for a toilet break, after 90 minutes of sitting. As for existing problems, do some light stretching exercise to strengthen the back muscle. For the eyes, you may do a eye massage or some eye exercises. Hope I am of some help :)

What you say is a great truth. Computer using can be harmful for your health if you don't take precautions. You should use an antireflex screen to avoid damage to your sight and you should use an ergonomic chair in order not to have back pain. I tell you this and, as a matter of fact, I have neither a screen nor a special chair. :) So, "do what I say, but don't do what I do".

you need a good chair and the position of the monitor comes into effect too . When you set there that long it is good to get up and walk around abit to releive form setting in that position for so long. Make sure feet are even on the floor and that you back is stright . a straight back helps releive the pain. The go get a massage once in awhile

It seems you have it because of long time starring at computer...if its just so a pad of aloe vera pulp kept on closed eye for 5 min helps...even coriender seeds soaked overnight (soaked water)relieves burning sensation . Even you can use eye drops, rest and stop starring at your computer screen. Sometimes a cold pack over your eye for a few mintues helps!
