I don't know if many My ltters who do not live in Australia, know of the Beaconsfield Mine Tragedy. About 11 months ago, there was a minor earthquake in Tasmania, and a mine collasped. One miner was killed, but two were trapped, in a small space where they could not strech out or stand up. They stayed like this for two weeks.
Australia watched with baited breath for two weeks, as they rescue process took place. I believe this was shown in many countries around the World. Even one well known media personality, collapsed & died of a heart attack whilst covering this amazing rescue.
When rescued, the celebrations in this small mining town were immense. Many an Aussie, including myself, were in tears.
The two miners were taken to hospital, but one walked out the same day. The other had leg injuries.
Later, they were flown to New York to appear on the Good Morning show.
It has just been announced that the two surviving miners have released a single. The profits from this song all go to the local community.

It is really like a miracle for both the miners. It happens rarely. 2 weeks in collasped mines, really amazing. This is just like a serial "I should not be alive" comes in discovery channel. God bless them happy remaining life with their families. Due to busy schedule, I have missed this news. Hope it will come in discovery channel also later on. Such thing happens rarely. You are lucky guy, you have watched this happenings. Thanks for sharing such amazing information among mylotees.

That is wonderful news that these miners were finally able to get out of that mine and are doing well. It had to be a scary feeling for them being trapped in there for so long without nourishment and rest. They must also be devastated about the other miner being killed. Their families have to be very happy for their safe return and hope that they do well with their music and make a great profit for their community.
