15 cats and beyond?

We currently have 15 cats at home and we're expecting about 6 more on the way because two of the young females are pregnant (again!). I love cats, but I really hate cleaning up after them (although most of them poo in our garden) and my parents don't want to neuter the toms... What do I do?

Wow, that is a lot of cats! How are you going t be able to find homes for all of them, or are you planning on keeping all the kittens? I bet they do indeed generate a lot of poo! Would your parents be willing to at least get the females nuetered? I mean, are the siblings not breeding, as well?

Gee thats a lot of cats. If money is no problem then get them neutered. Otherwise there will 100's of inbreeds in a year. Reality check - you are doing more harm than good (your parents). I hope they are dewormed and vaccinated otherwise you will have an epidemic on your hands especially with all the poo around harvesting disease.

Inbreeding was one of the major points I told my parents about neutering the toms. I'm guessing my parents are just too tired to have the cats neutered. But I was assured that the next batch has to go, because I think 15 is ALREADY too much!

But I'm too tired of pick up all of their mess when I get home... And when I do, I turn around for 5 minutes, and theres suddenly more magic poo in the corner of the house.

Gee , this is one thing I really don't understand. Why would anyone want to have that many cats. I love cats. I have one myself. I would even have two if I could. But I already have two dogs and a bird. One dog came by daughter moving back home. Is the reason your parents don't want to neuter the toms finacial? I can totally understand that. But something has to be done or they are going to have 50 cats in no time.

Actually, money is no object... I told them once that neutering the toms have more benefits in the long run, but they said they felt sorry for the cats. And the main reason my parents don't give the cats away is because they think the cats won't be taken care of.

I watched something on tv where this cat owner trained his cat to use the toilet and flush after. I'm not saying that you should also train your cats to be like that, but it would be practical to train them to poo in the garden always. Of course, it is hard to train an old cat new tricks. Or is it dogs?

Yikes! The most I've had at any given time is two, and that's been a handful. I couldn't imagine having fifteen. Are they house cats, or are they allowed to roam further than your garden? Your parents must really like having a full house. :)

you could give them away to others who like to own a cat or give some kittens to a shelter until someone adopts them... if i were you i would still keep them but i think 15+ is sooo many for me to handle... i only have 2 cats, females, and one is pregnant already, i don't know what the future holds for me and my cats... ;)

Please get them spayed and neutered! Cats that keep having more and more kittens are the reason that animal selters are full of pets with no homes.
