Five years ago, I left my home country of Canada, planning to travel. I had virtually no money in my bank account, sold everything before I left so I had nothing to come back to, and headed for Latin America without being able to speak Spanish. At the time, it was exciting but scary. Looking back, I am really amazed that shy little me could do something so drastic. have you ever surprised yourself by doing something amazing?

WOW that is amazing! I am not brave enough to even think about trying something like that, even in my younger days! I think for me, it was probably when I left my ex, with two kids, and no money and not knowing what i was going to do. The only reason I stayed with him as long as I did was because I was afraid of what it would like to be alone with two kids, but eventually I decided to just go for it and I figured it out and everything worked out!

Good for you for making that choice, I think it is braver than mine! I only had myself to look after

I didn't leave the country, but I did leave the state. I was born & raised in South Florida. I never thought I would leave. My husband & I brought some family of his up to Northern Illinois and we immediately fell in love with the place. We went back home, sold our house, my husband cashed out his pension and we moved up here with no jobs and just $3500 for a place to live and to live on until we got jobs. We also had 2 kids with us !! It all worked out for the best,, and I don't think we've ever been happier to tell you the truth. But I never thought I could do that. I am a very stable person and love stability around me. Just up and leaving with no where to go, really was a BIG leap for me.

Like you, I also moved from Canda to another country. I was suppose to be here, for only 1 year... now into my 9th year. I'm happily married, with a nice home, and two cars, and planning to starting a business. Sometimes I look back and ask myself what would I do if I was still there. But, I'm glad I made the decision to stay. But, you're actually braver than me, because at least I speak some Chinese. Good for you.
