I'd like to know which are the most important qualities that must have a school to permit you to choose it. if it's better the public or the religious private schools. In italy sometimes both are not very good

I still believe private schools are the best schools. You can't learn in public schools all those taught in private schools. And I am really a witness to it. I always compare the school of my kid to my neigbhor's. The lessons taught in private schools are sophisticated and difficult. Kids really learn a lot from private schools. And their behavior really matters.

Yes, I have certainly hear some horror stories about the Italian schools as one of my best friends live in Italy, I sure hope that you are able to weed out the worst of the bunch, when you have to chose a school for your child. I prefer to send my children to public school, but here in the U.S., the quality of the school really has a lot to do with where you live, since the schools are funded in great part by property taxes. Therefore rich neighborhoods usually means good quality schools. My husband and I are at a point in our life, where we are trying to figure out where to settle down, and the quality of the schools in the area, really does play a great role. I am not a fan of private schools, but we were about to move to Jamaica a few years ago, and we realized that if we did make that move, our children would have to attend private schools in certain areas, because they are racially mixed, and this could cause problems for them.
