I have one of those stationary mouses(mice?) with a large red roller ball on it to move the cursor. Theball is about 4.5 cm in diameter. I assumed that my grandson, who loves playing online kids games had knocked it off the table and not bothered to find the ball when it popped out of the mouse. So, after searching the whole kitchen floor for the thing, I went to take a break before searching the bedroom and there sitting on the couch was my 17 month old granddaughter holding something close to her tummy and petting it, saying nice, nice, nice. Yup, you guessed it, she had my roller ball and was treating it likea little pet! Isn't that cute?

That is quite funny. A good way to prevent this from happening again would be to get a mouse with a laser. These types of mouses don't require roller balls which is extremely helpful. No longer do you need to worry about cleaning out the ball or your little granddaugher stealing it and treating it like a pet.

Why are you still using the trackball kind of mouse? Have you considered switching to optical mouse? It doesn't need any trackball and it works better. The price difference isn't that great too.

because I LIKE the track ball mouse! besides, I don't have to move my arm about the table with thetrackball. Besides, this one doesn't take batteries that will die right when things get important
