Depends on your partner and if you're trying to have a baby or not. With us, I just got up one morning after dreaming about having a baby, told my husband I needed to take a test and went into the bathroom while he stumbled along after me. Test was positive, which woke him up fast, but really it's all about what u want as a couple and how u think he'd take the news. We were trying, but my husband thought I'd suspected something and didn't tell him, which wasn't true. I woke up thinking I needed to take a test on the day my period was due. Late periods don't always indicate pregnancy btw.

No we not planning on having one...we just had one 6 months ago. yes I know that missing a period don't always mean that you are...I did tell him I was late...I also told him it could be nothing.

What kind of cycle do you have? Is it a regular or irregular menstrual cycle? If you have a regular monthly period then you may try to conduct some pregnancy test one month after you missed your monthly period. You can buy some over the counter pregnancy kit. But if you are in irregular monthly period I guess should try to go visit your doctor to confirm if you are preganant. But you should tell your current partner that you are already delayed on you monthly period.

If I was a week late, I would tell my husband. Of course, I would go out and buy the test before telling him then march into the bathroom and take the test after telling him.

Hmmmm, keep me posted. Okay but to your question, I told hubby immediately which happened to be before I was even late. The day after (it broke) I said, "I'm pregnant." Needless to say he didn't really believe me, so I waited...felt sick and told him...still didn't believe me. In the end I bought some packages online (was not going to a local store) and once they came home I tested myself. At first I did this a few days before my period, it showed a light second line but not enough to convince. I waited a week, which drove me nuts. He was then curious, it was a darker-light second line so he believed. It would take me to go tot he doctor for him to be 100%. Good luck. You may want to buy the test, take it and then tell him. You don't even have to tell him that YOU ARE for sure, just say you think it and you should get a test. :)

I told him I was late but also told him it could be nothing. I am thinking of buying one at the store today and if I don't start by morning I will take it then.

I would tell him right away. Now the funny thing is that I had a period after (like a week or two after!!!) and then missed one... but I think this month I missed it because of STRESS in my life, because that same thing has happened to me before.

Yea I've missed a few months in a roll before and then started thats why I'm afraid of telling him and getting him worried for nothing.

I waited a week or so. What I did was mentioned that I was late and then went out and got a test. I took three during the month and a half I was late and had a two negatives before I got the positive result. Then I told him about the test and went to the doctor's to get confirmation on it the next day. There's no point in worrying about it until you get a positive. Sometimes even though you are pregnant, it doesn't show up on the test. But I didn't stop taking them because I just felt pregnant, I knew that the tests were wrong.
