Has anyone read the bible .
Well I am a non christian and curious to know what are its main teachings .
Is it really worth reading ? How much time does it take to read the bible and absorb its teachings ?

Very few people that I know read the Bible all the way through..maybe i am just jaded but my parents were life long members of a church and i have gone too...but i have read a lot of the bible and yes it is confusing and contradictory as it was written by about 45 different authors over a period of about 1500 years..and the Old Testament was written in Hebre, and the New Testament was written in Greek and that was thousands of years ago...and now what we call the bible has been written in Latin, Arabic and English..also all the languages of the world..so you can see how comples this is...so now I am 62 and read children or teenage versions..as I am puzzled about how the different stories fit together...it is not easy to understand but its getting better every day i pick up a new morsel of information...ALL of this has to be accepted on FAITH..as no one can prove or disprove the Bible..methinks..just like politics..we were told never to debate this as you create more heat then light.
God's plan of salvation is wisdom to the believer but foolishness to the unbeliever
Good luck in your search for the truth and understanding. The Bible is God's road map to heaven
