Okay, we all know people's most popular excuse for not coming in to work is because they are sick - but what are some of the more "interesting" reasons you have heard? One that I heard lately was a guy who couldn't come in to work one day because he had "3000 chickens to pluck".

My former colleague once called in to say that he had eye problems. According to him, it was quite serious and he had to take the whole week off. We later received a faxed MC from his doctor. That very same day, some colleagues and I went for a field trip to another town, while we were having lunch at a restaurant, guess who we met? Yes, that colleague who called in sick. He had eye prblem, allright. He was punched in the eye by someone in a fight over a soft toy!

There are several ones that I can think of.One is my girlfriend or boyfriend is threatening to get married today or they would break up :-P
Another one could be my house has been robbed and I am explaining my losses to the insurance agent and the police .

A woman forgot to come to work one day. When she showed up the nesxt day she was baffled to hear she was supposed to be there the day before, on the 8th. She looked at her wrist watch and said, but it is only the 8th today. Oh no, I know what went wrong - I bought this watch in Spain and their calendars only have 30 days a month. So? Should she not have been in a day early if that was the case....

The most commonly used in our office is LBM (my excuse also). It is known as Loose Bowel Movement, but for me it's Looking for Better Management which i don't know it they already know it by now.

Once I didn't feel like going in, so I told my co-worker my car broke down. Luckily I drove a pretty old car so they believed me. I felt bad about lying, but I didn't feel like going in.

I had a coworker called out because she had a nightmare over night and was too scared to come in to work and was too tired. I thought that was a funny one as she had a serious attendance problem. She had some other funny excuses as well that I can not remember right now but is hard to imagine someone calling out because of having nightmares.

When I use to work in a wilderness hotel with staff housing,I would get to hear some pretty good ones. One lad explained he was late for work because he had a dream the hotel burnt down and when he looked out the window,it was not there(a cloudy day) so he went back to bed.

Hi,
I hope to give the truth if it is reasonable is better. There are many excuses can be made according to the situations one is in. To make is success to make the other person believe it to sanction a leave. Hence I hope the weakness of other person is to be known and mostly for what that person is giving more leaning. Anyhow a stomach problems is one of the most common used leave in our office.
