Spend more on Vehicle (Car) or House?

Do you put in a lot of effort into your car? Is your car worth more than your house? Why did you decide to start this? I believe that your house should be worth more than your car unless you drive a Formula One (1) car for a living. I mean, unless you rent or something; not many people have say for example a $200,000 car and only a $150,000 house! Does anyone know of anyone where this is the case? Are they like totally in love with their car/vehicle? Do they like spend more time in it than in their actual house? I can understand those people who sort of live in a caravan; but, I wonder if anybody knows where this is the case.

We had this situation a few months ago, either to spend our money to a car or buy a house. And what we did is we bought a house. It's worth payingfor. In few years my house' rate will go up. YOu know real estate booms in our country. The rate of propeties dont go down. On the other hand, car's prices go down every year. And after 5 years your car's worth is 1/4 only of it's original price. I don't think it's practical to spend money on something that deppricates after years.

I put effort into making sure both my car and my apartment were both looking good..it just so happens, it doesn't cost as much to maintain my house as it did to make my car look good..my rims cost more than my rent for like two months..so I made sure I didn't slack on one to make the other look good..there are people I know who spent lots of money on their car(s) and live in the crappiest places you would want to see..to me, that just means you aren't clear on what your priorities are...

As of the moment we don't have a car yet.. :), so were spending much on our house. But eventhough i'll be having a car in the near future, i still consider spending more on my house, my home.

hi u c u r talking very sensibly in a very practical manner. yes ofcourese as far as i too know every man first goes in for an abode or house n then only add cars/vehicles what ever it is . but u c there r some people who r a kind of a little obsessive type. for them they r obsessed with their car or what ever vehicle they own for them its like thesr baby. we do every thing we can the best we give to our baby know. for these people its just the same. for them its their life, their soul their partner their every thing. it may be a kind of 'excessive compulsive disorder' a ver very less version of the pschycological disorder cause these people r so obsessed with it.

For me my house always comes first. But I do know people that feel their car is most important and would prefer to own a car than to own a house. I say invest in your home where the value goes up. When you invest in a car the value goes down. So it makes sense to put more emphasis on owning a house.

I would pay more for a house than a car. There is no way I would pay that much for a vehicle. That is so crazy!!

it is is ;logical and practical that most people spend more on their cars for maintenance because of its indirect income it produces. it is a major tool for people at work , just like me because without it , i won't be able to work. so, a vehicle is a practical investment.whereas, the home is a secondary practical investment because it is where you lay your hat on after a hard days work.

I do not put a lot of effort into my car, I think the most important thing for a car is whether it can move or not,as long as it can take me to the place where I want to go , that is enough, I do not care about whether it is a good brand or not. My car is only a cheap one and my house is not that expensive comparatively. I think if a person is having a 200 grands cars,at least he is living in a house of 2 million market value, those peopl who have 200000 car must be a car fanatic, they just like to pursuit something,or have modifications on the cars, etc. In my opinion, even if I have money , I will not get an expensive cars, because I would be very unhappy if the car was scratched or crashed, I better have a cheap car so that I do not feel any problems even it was scratched.

I don't put much effort into a car because i really havn't one yet.And I didn't see anybody spend more money on a car but a house. However,i decided to purchase a vehicle by the end of this year.It is easy to understand a rich man should spend a little bit more money on his house when he could afford a Formula One .So it's really rare to know someone could spend more on vehicle than a house acturally.

I guess everybody around the globe put more in cars and less in houses even though they cost much more than cars but the maintenance is little as we dont drive them and not much to depreciate, while we really drive our cars so much and wildly aswell so certainly for being that wild with it it needs money to fix and be always in perfect shape and smooth running. There arent many i guess there is none whois living in caravans sort of cars atleast not in my country.

I would never spend more on my car than on my house. I can't live in my car.

first, we should at least confirm that we have a place to live, so in my country, most of people will first buy a house if have some saving. In my opinion, i preper buying a car first, because i like driving. I just work for two years, so my money is tight, i have bought a expensive house, and have to pay back the debt every month, so although i want a car, even a cheap one, i have no money to achieve.
