have you ever had buttermilk pie?

i know alot of people are going yuck. but it is really good. it doesnt taste like buttermilk at all. i use to have the recipe and i cant find it any where. does anyone have one by chance? have you even heard of one lol. i have looked at sites and they have a few but i know they are not close to the one i am looking for. i had never had it till i got married and hubby got one from the store and i was like yuck no way well i got brave and tried a bite and lets just say hubby lost his pie. lol

here, i've searched some recipes for you although i havent tried them yet..so u can give it a try... Buttermilk Pie IV INGREDIENTS * 1/2 cup margarine, softened * 2 cups white sugar * 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour * 1/4 teaspoon salt * 3 eggs * 1 cup buttermilk * 1 teaspoon vanilla extract * 1 (9 inch) deep dish pie crust DIRECTIONS 1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C.) 2. In a large bowl, cream margarine and sugar. Beat in flour and salt. Blend in the eggs. Stir in the buttermilk and vanilla. Pour into pie shell. 3. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, then reduce temperature to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) and bake 45 minutes, or until filling is set. Buttermilk Pie III INGREDIENTS * 1/2 cup butter * 1 1/2 cups white sugar * 3 teaspoons all-purpose flour * 3 eggs * 1 cup buttermilk * 1 teaspoon vanilla extract * 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg * 1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust DIRECTIONS 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). 2. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until smooth. mix in the flour, eggs, buttermilk and vanilla. Pour filling into pie shell. Sprinkle top with nutmeg. 3. Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until golden brown. Buttermilk Pie II INGREDIENTS * 1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust * 2 eggs, beaten * 1 cup white sugar * 3/4 cup melted butter * 1/4 teaspoon salt * 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour * 1 cup buttermilk * 2 teaspoons vanilla extract DIRECTIONS 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). 2. Place beaten eggs in a medium bowl. Gradually beat in sugar. Stir in melted butter, salt, flour, buttermilk, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth. Pour mixture into pastry shell. 3. Bake in preheated oven for 50 minutes. Reduce heat to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Bake an additional 10 minutes. Pie is done when toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Buttermilk Pie INGREDIENTS * 3 eggs * 1/2 cup butter, softened * 1 1/2 cups white sugar * 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour * 1 cup buttermilk * 1 teaspoon vanilla extract * 1 tablespoon lemon juice * 1/8 tablespoon freshly grated nutmeg * * 1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust DIRECTIONS 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees (175 degrees C). 2. Beat eggs until frothy; add butter, sugar and flour. Beat until smooth. 3. Stir in buttermilk, vanilla, lemon juice and nutmeg; pour into pie shell. 4. Bake for 40 to 60 minutes, or until center is firm. Buttermilk Pie INGREDIENTS * 1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch single crust pie * 1 1/4 cups white sugar * 1/4 cup all-purpose flour * 2 cups buttermilk * 3 eggs * 1 teaspoon vanilla extract * 1/4 cup butter DIRECTIONS 1. Mix sugar and flour. Add buttermilk, beaten eggs, vanilla. Melt the butter over low heat. Add to buttermilk mixture and mix well. 2. thank you so much it was the first one i was looking for. i dont know why i could not find it. maybe old age kicking in at times. thank you my kids are excited now that we can make it lol.

Buttermilk Pie 3 cups sugar 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1-1/2 cups buttermilk, divided 5 eggs 1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 2 unbaked pastry shells (9 inches each) 1 cup chopped pecans, optional In a bowl, combine sugar, flour and 3/4 cup buttermilk. Add eggs and remaining buttermilk. Add eggs and remaining buttermilk; mix well. Stir in the butter and vanilla. Divide evenly among pie shells. Top with pecans if desired. Bake at 425° for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350°; bake 25 to 30 minutes longer or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool completely. Store in the refrigerator. Yield: 12-16 servings.

i never had buttermilk pie because i don't like buttermilk pie.i prefer to have buttermilk instead of pie.my favourite pie is prawn pie.

Buttermilk pie is MY ABSOLUTE FAV pie ever! I think the best recipe is the Impossible Buttermilk Pie. It calls for bisquick, but I just use flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Mmmmmmm!

I meant to add that this one doesn't use a crust - it kind of makes it's own crust. AND it's SUPER easy!
