you know those people that play an instrument, sing or perform something on the street hoping to make a litttle cash. do you find them entertaining or annoying. do you stop to listen, do you give them money? in ottawa where i used to live they had a lot downtown, some of them were pretty good, i'd stop to listen for a while and i'd usually give them money if i stayed to listen.

I guess I am going to sound harsh but no I do not give beggers money. I don't care if they are just standing on the corner or playing music. I feel they can get out and get a job just like the rest of us. I also saw a show on 60 minutes where they followed a street person around. The man stood on a corner in old raggy clothes for over eight hours. He walked up the street and go into a new car. He then went to him home and changed into nice clothes. This was all on tape. You can't trust anyone. I work very hard and so does my husband and I can't see throwing money away when we are bearly making ends meet.

the ones i'm talking about are street performers that don't try to look pitiful. they have obtained permits to perform on the streets. they also have regular day jobs. some are hired to be entertianment on the street in some downtown areas

We live in a small town and do not have any proformers on the streets however when I have visited larger cities and have come upon these proformers I have been drawn to listen and always left some cash for the starving artist I think it is great that they are trying so hard to acheive their dreams.
