I have been wanting, planning and saving to buy a new laptop. I have one but it's already too old and the specs are not that good. It's an Ibook by the way. Not Ibook g4, just Ibook and it actually is not good. So, I've been wanting to buy one and I'm really trying to save up for it. What laptop can you suggest? I love mp3s, movies and pictures. So basically, I need something with a big enough memory to store them all. What do you think?

Hiya I might be a bit late getting to this discussion , I have a DELL inspiron 640m , it is brilliant and Dell are brilliant , My battery went about a month ago and the sent a new one by courier the next day , my power cable went a few days ago , I spoke to someone on the website and it was delivered by hand the next day , their after sales are brilliant , my eldest son bought his desktop PC from them and recommended them to me , I will always use Dell from now on xx

WE got it for my son for his open university studdies . it had a DVD writer and all software loads of memmory and really fast it cost £1200 if it had not been for his studies we would have got a less expensive one , I am sorry but I don't know what that is in any other money , but you can get a currency convertor on line xx

Oh, Ok thanks weemam. I'll convert that amount in our currency. Your son's lucky. I'll be graduating from college and my dad still haven't replaced my laptop.

OK, that's what I've been planning to buy weemam. A DELL Inspiron 640 or 6400. Anyway, does it have dvd player already? And other offices installed like word and stuff? How much did you get it? I know of someone who is selling it for 55K pesos. Is it ok?

I have a new Apple Macbook as well. It's okay, I like it. Sometimes it seems a little slow, but no other problems yet. Before this I had a dell latitude which had tons of problems, and an IBM thinkpad that also had lots of problems, although it was better than the dell. My husband had an HP notebook (see above post) when we met and I liked it okay, but it got fried within a year and a half of him having it and was totally useless after that point. My father has a panasonic toughbook which is very nice and sturdy but on the pricey side.

Wow, that's cute. You both have the new Apple Macbook that I've been bugging my dad about. Lol. Anyways, I was thinking of buying a Dell instead. Maybe Dell 640 or Dell 6400 since I'm planning to save on my own instead of bugging my dad about buying me the Macbook or the Sony Vaio that I've been wanting. Now I'm having second thoughts because of what you said. I didn't know there is a panasonic laptop. I'm going to search for it in the net now. Thanks!

I think HP has the best laptop. There are several other companies out there that can debate it though like Dell and Compaq. I have an Acer and I am very happy with it till now.For me the most important thing before buying the laptop other than the recommendation from my friends was to have an online customer service available that I could be proud to avail and so far it has gone wel for me.

OK, I now envy you. I've been bugging my dad to buy me one since I saw it on the net last year and when they went to the States that was on top of my to-buy list for me and guess what, they got me an ibook. My brother in law's OLD ibook. Great. Anyways, they say HP is also nice. Is it really?

I have Sony VAIO SZ480, i haven't encountered any problem so far. Its very lightweight, you can bring it with you anywhere you go. ^^

I've always wanted a Vaio or the new Macbook but I guess I have to save more money to afford one or I'll go for Dell Inspiron instead.

It's just a bit complicated if you are used in Windows like my first time to handle a mac. My laptop is a MAc ibook by the way. But it's quite easy afterwards.

Hi friend! I would recommend u to go for TOSHIBA SATELLITE LAPTOP.. Its the best Laptop i've ever seen.. Its just like Sony Vaio.. But i liked its features more than Sony Vaio... Currently me too using TOSHIBA SATELLITE A135-S4467 model... And i have never faced any problem uptil now.. It comes with a Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium Edition, Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, 2 GB RAM, 250 GB Hard Disk, DVD Dual Writer, Inbuilt Card Reader, Wi-Fi, Wireless Lan, 15.4" diagonal wide screen, TruBite Dislpay etc..... It has lots n lots of features.. and amazing battery life.. It currently the laptop with the latest configurations in the market.. Although it is a little bit expensive, but its worth to spend a few bucks more... Its cost is almost similiar to Sony Vaio only...

I had a Toshiba and it went faulty. I'd recommend a HP COMPAQ for a budget choice, but if you're willing to splash out i'd get a high spec HP multimedia laptop, you get more for your money with them than Sony Vaio, although Sony Vaios are VERY nice.

I know, Sony Vaios are really VERY nice but VERY expensive as well. Maybe if I can still wait and be more patient to earn and save up money, maybe I can buy one soon. I hope. As long as my Ibook and my desktop still work, I can wait for a new laptop.

I haven't really seen any TOSHIBA laptops here. Is it really good? Will I have my money's worth? I'm really trying to save up for a laptop that would suit me but not too pricey. I want Sony Vaio but it's way up my budget.
