I just finished watching "Eight Below" about the sled dogs that were left behind in Antarctica. This is a very touching and beautiful movie that at parts will bring tears to your eyes. They have to be left behind because one of the members has to be airlifted to a hospital. They dogs were wonderful and worked together as a team after they got off the chain that they were on. People could take a lesson about working together as these dogs did. They encouraged each other and shared when they killed something to eat. While the dog sled owner was trying his darndest to get back to Antarctica to get the dogs. At every turn he was hitting a stumbling block but he kept perserving until the team that he had been there with got together with him and told him they would go back with him. Such a story is a must see. I recommend it very highly. This is based on a true story which makes it even a better movie.

“Eight Below” is a first-rate family film loaded with terrific performances by two and four-legged actors. “Eight Below” director Frank Marshall and Disney deliver a film that satisfies on multiple levels and should find box office gold with this genuinely touching movie.

I don't know if I could have left them or not either. People and dogs form a very special relationship together and those dogs were something else. They were very smart and knew the true meaning of team work. If only people did as they did this world would be better off. They also stayed right around the base never traveling very far from it. I think they knew he would be back for them. Dogs are a wonderful judge of people and they trusted him. I was very impressed with this movie! Another animal movie that I watched and was very taken with was "Free Willy" But I think this movie outdid "Free Willy".

The nice thing about this movie it is based on a true situation. It had a lot of scenes showing how the dogs survived and how they all stayed together helping one another. And also there were shots about the concern of the owner and how he kept trying to get back there to get his dogs. It was a very touching story and I had a box of keenix next to me because on some of the scenes the tears just flowed. I love dogs and all animals so most of the movies I watch are these kinds. I also like some romance movies.

Aww - it sounds like a lovely film. I haven't actually heard of the film - maybe it hasn't been released in the UK yet? But I will definately keep an eye out for it now.

I also cried when the dogs were left behind and wondered how they were going to make it since they were tied up. A awesome movie. This was the first time I had seen it and I will watch it again. I like to watch these kind of movies. I watched Free Willy and again was glued to the screen till the end. That was another awesome movie in my book.

Now thats one of my favourite movies because it has paul walker and secondly it has dogs , lol. Now its a true story i guess and liked the place fully covered with snow nothing to come or go , only the dog pulled sledge, it has a great meaning about life and friendship.

I completely agree with you. That movie was moving. I particularly love it because I'm an animal lover and it just shows that animals can be as strong as humans, sometimes even stronger. Those huskies were very brave and loyal. I admit, there were some scenes when I almost fell asleep, it was pretty quiet when the dogs were all alone in the snow. But overall, it is a good movie. It's one of those movies that you could sit and watch with your family and learn something about surviving and working with each other.
