HI, Anyone out there had a nerve block? Please share your experience. My Dr. might refer me for a nerve block in the cervical area. I did already have an epidural in that area with limited success. Thanks for any input.

I have never had a nerve block, but my mother has. She has them in her back every 6 months months, & finds them successful. My mother-n-law also teried a nerve block for her back, but it didn't work. So i guess it varies for everyone. If you are in a lot of p[ain, then maybe you should try it.Good Luck.

what is a nerve block and what does an epidural have to do with it, an epidural is a pain killer that just lasts for a few hours.

No, my epidural (lumbar) injection has lasted almost a year. The surgeon injects steriods and it helps reduce the inflammation which is part of the reason for the pain. I donot know yet on the nerve block as I never had one but, might in near future.
