Chicken and Egg

Apparently the problem has been solved: The egg came first because the chicken would have to be hatched from an egg to be a true chicken; the egg was laid by a proto-chicken! Is there a prize for the most pointless post? ;-)

YOu are right. It didn't mention it is a chicken egg. Fish laid eggs before chickens existed.

This answer was already hunging out there in mylot... I think it came from my little sister. "The first was a dinosaur that layed the egg that evolved to a chicken because of a mutation." Perhaps the dinosaur was an archaeopteryx.
