Have you had any good experiences with using www.craigslist.com ? or any bad for that matter?
I contacted someone about buying a car they had listed. He replied to my email saying that so many people have asked about the car that he can hardly reply to everyone. He further stated that he needs to get a new title as he lost the original, in the mean time the first person to send him $200 he will hold the car for them to purchase.
RED FLAGS went up real fast on this one! okay so the first person to send in 200 will be able to purchase the car when the title comes in - what about everyone else who sends in the $200, is that just a gift to him?

I've had great experiences with Craigslist. My husband found a side job and it ended up becoming a wonderful full-time position. We've sold cell phones and other personal items...with caution of course. A friend of ours son...also got connected with people in his career field that led to a wonder job that allowed him to finally support his wife and begin a family. You do need to be cautious like you noticed, especially meeting people and buying things, as you would on any website. There are lots of opportunities available though if you have the patience and wisdom to weed through the STRANGE ones to find the Good ones. Don't give up.

Oh yikes. That definitely sounds like a scam! I'm glad the community red flagged him. Hopefully it kept someone else from being taken.
I have had some good experiences on craigs list. I found my apartment through there and have found lots of information on local craft fairs for me to sell my crafts at.
That said, I think the most important thing abut using craigslist, or any such site, Is being smart about it. If it sounds too good to be true, it most likely is. It sounds like you are a very smart user, so with luck it will be a great resource for you.
