What do you do to prepare yourself for Flu season

Flu season: How do you prepare for it? - "Outbreaks of the flu occur in different seasonal patterns depending on the region in the world. In temperate climate zones, flu season will typically begin in the late fall and peak in mid- to late winter. And in tropical zones, flu seasons appear to be less pronounced, with year-round isolation of the virus"

Any time the cold & flu season comes around I always wash my hands a lot. Viruses live a lot longer than some people think on surfaces. I try never to touch a public door handle unless I have a tissue or paper towel in my hand first to grab it with. I know that may sound silly but when colds used to go around the office I rarely came down with them. Not much you can do with airborne viruses unfortunately except try to keep your immune system as healthy as possible so it's easier to fight. I came down with a stomach flu that went around last year, yeesh that was pretty awful. I couldn't even keep water down for 3 days. I felt like a dried up prune.. LOL. I just had to wait it out and pray my kidneys didn't shut down. I hear Tamiflu is really good but haven't had the chance to try it. I've been lucky, except for that stomach flu I haven't had a full blown flu in several years, just pesky colds.

I have severe asthma therefore therefore i must have a flu shot every year and a pneumonia shot too. I also start being very careful not to touch magazines in doctors offices or public places . I also wash my hands frequently and use purrell constantly to keep germs at bay. I do avoid people that are ill and try to get the proper rest and eat healthy. I have several health concerns and the flu is life threatening to me so I'm very careful Cheryl

I know how that is..I am an asthmatic too..but I tend to try to avoid doctor's offices all together if I can during the flu season..I think if you were not really sick when you went to the doctor; by the time you leave from there you will be;)+

Government campaign against flu. - Text: "Vacunarnos y vacunarlos a tiempo" (Let's get the vaccine and let them get the vaccine).
Every year in April or May (fall or autumn in southern hemisphere) I get vaccinated against flu. This year I haven't done it yet.

When flu season comes around ,it is better to have some preparation as prevention is better than cure in any cases. The best way is to improve your natural body immunity so that you can resist to the flu better naturally, you should have enough rest everyday, and also have balance nutrition. A healthy body mean a better immunity. I do not always come down with flu, but in case I am infected by flu, in additon to see the doctor, I may choose to take some panadol and drink plenty of water. I found out that drinking water is very when useful when you get flu.

I remember when I was an Olympic volunteer they had us all get flu shots. They did not want everyone getting sick at the same time during the Games. That was 19 years ago and every year since, I have had a flu shot and have not had a serious flu since.

My dad and mom used to have flu vaccins especially when they are travelling. But like you, they also have a flu weeks after having the shot. I don't know why. My mom is not here so I can ask her why. But she also noticed it. For my child, I just give her a multivitamin syrup everyday, fruits, vegetables and milk. A lot of healthy food, because nutrition is the key too to a healthy and flu resistant body. And when she has the flu vitamin C is a must. (^^,)
