Contra returns for the second time on the PS2 -- but this time around, the game plays in 3D instead of the traditional 2D side-scrolling perspective. Heresy, you say? Don't be too quick to jump to conclusions. The 3D format of Neo Contra allows for new types of movement and new strategies for dealing with the grotesque bosses you face. Environments have destructible backgrounds as well, so you even get to see the blown-up remains that you'd leave behind in real life. In addition to main character Bill Rizer, Neo Contra also introduces a samurai-ish type guy with the unlikely name of name Genbei Jaguer Yagyu. He's the second-player character in this game, and judging by the sword by his side, he'll be something of a fresh breeze for the Contra franchise. (He may not look very fresh, or nice-smelling, but you'll justhave to trust us on this.)
