Are you fascinated by eating competitions?

I know it's competition, but should this be a sport? Some years, I will tune into ESPN and watch Nathan's hot dog eating contest from Coney Island, and marvel at how these contestants can eat so much. I remember one time at work, we had some leftover franks, and after eating three in addition to the two hot dogs I had for lunch, I felt sick. And here were these people eating two, three, four dozen franks without the bread. Last night, I was watching a brat eating contest from Wisconsin, and it was a lot of the same people from the hot dog eating contest. Apparently, there is a circuit and the top eaters of the world go around and compete in all these competitions, kind of like golfers. I admire these contestants for I don't think I can ever (or want to) train my body to take in all that food within a ten minute period. It's pretty fascinating to watch, but I don't think I can follow the tour like following the PGA tour, the PBA tour or the Nascar circuit. Do you think this will get to a point where people outside the top three can make a living off these competitions?

OH my, I don't think I would have the patience to watch an eating contest :)
I don't really think it can ever be considered a sport and I don't know if they can make a living off those competitions but I"m sure they can save a lot of money in food LOL
