Have you ever had a blowout?

How fast were you driving? Were you able to pull over to the side safely or did you get into an accident? I had a blowout back in December 2005 (right before I had my miscarriage). My husband and I had just gotten our new (but very used and old LOL) truck one month before. The previous owner had only gotten new tires in the front so we knew we'd need to replace the rear ones soon. Anyway, I was driving 65 mph on a two lane road with my youngest son. We were about a 3 miles away from home when I suddenly I got a bad feeling about the tires. About a moment later the left rear tire blew out! I was so scared, but I somehow managed to pull over and of the shoulder (which wasn't much to begin with) safely. My son started to cry so I calmed him, and myself down, then I proceeded to call my husband to let him know what happened and to rescue me as I don't know how to change a tire (I know, I know, I need to learn!). A few minutes later my husband and oldest son arrived and once my DH put the spare on I drove the truck the rest of the way home. I went to Wal-Mart the next day with my oldest and got all new tires for the truck as my husband and I were not taking any chances on having it happen again!
