Gas prices are way to high!

The price of fuel is skyrocketing out of control. Admittedly the price in the US has dropped some over the past month or so, due most likely to the decrease in summer vacation driving, and many people are happy about that. But look at the pattern folks.
Every year the price goes up and then comes back down, but never back to its original price. So it's no great prognostication that next year we will be paying a lot more over the summer followed by an autumn decrease. A decrease designed only to placate the masses.
Polititions and oil companies blame it on the scarcity of resources. It is true that we are quickly depleting our fossil fuel resources, but is it happening as quickly as claims state? And how is it possible that oil companies are reporting record profits? Aren't the inflated prices at the pump due to the passing along of the increased costs of an ever more scarce commodity?
And if we are soon to run out of petroleum fuel, why aren't world governments, especially the US government, spending more money and mandating more legislation to combat excessive fuel consumption and at the same time promoting research into alternative fuel sources?
Anyone? Anyone?

The answer to your question is already available.
A well respected American company FFi is already producing selling to 126 countries a simple cheap caplet that you simply add to your gas tank on every refill.
It is unique, because it saves between 7% to 14% on fuel costs plus cuts emissions by up to 70%.
We are looking for people in every country to help us clean up our environment one vehicle at a time.
Full information/proof etc etc can be found on www.ete.myffi.biz
The company will shortly produce a very small cap to treat the thousands of small motorcycles in Thailand/Manila etc.

It's simple economics. Hurricane Katrina depleted our ability to refine oil. However, the demand for the gas didn't drop, so prices are going to go up.
It's no different than fruits and vegetables being higher in price whenever theirs a drought or blight.

Money Money.
Yes I certainly am very excited about this product since I've been using it, it is certainly saving me an average of $12 a week....... better in my bank than in my tank.
The other benefit is my car runs a lot smoother & my emissions are way way down,.

The price of fuel is going up everywhere around the globe. I'm wondering if I still want a drivers licence, because these prices for fuel/gas are getting out of hand.
There have been cars invented that work on sunlight, electricity and water, but they are expensive and big fuelcompanies don't want them to take over, because they will go down when all cars are able to work on another medium than fuel.

exactly.....many companies postponed their plans to launch vehicles which run on other(alternative) fuels. It will effect the economy of arab and oil producing nations. they don't want to lose their clients right?

You are right, it would effect the economy enormously. However, I do think it will happen in the (near) future, because the prices will become so high no normal man can pay for driving his car. We can only guess when that will happen.

gas prices have, indeed, skyrocketed over the past three years or so. in my country, fuel has gone up by 100%, and it's scary to think about the future if nobody does anything about this.

I bought my first bought my motorcycle when I was in 11th. I was so calculating those days, that I calculated the distance to my college. The milage the bike would give. The saving i'll make by going for a bike etc etc. But within no time, my calculations were thrown into dustbin. They had no value. The prices of petrol rose so quickly that I feared about my decision. I reduced my dependence on my bike to make it for hte higher petrol price. Now I don't have my bike atall. I sold it. Couldn't afford it. Even if I could afford it, I would not spend so much money for bike, when I have public transport systems all over the city. I feel proud to use them......who wants a Rs 60,000/- worth bike? when i'v got Rs 800,000/- worth buses around me.....he he....

it is not only a problem of American, it is a problem of the world. In china, the oil price is skyrocketing too, and oil company make tons of money, I think for individual,we should minimize the use of automobile. if we keep doing this, perhaps the crazy price would go down.

the price of gases are fabricated by oil producing nations citing unavailability of crude oil.

Look at sweden, look at how well they managing their energy needs without much help from the fossil fuels. I envision every country to become like sweden. then air will be more fresher to breath, and it would really be a heaven to live anywhere. A major portion of Sweden's energy need is supplied by the Alternative resources.....

yes, you are right. But US is also trying about it. Research is going on in many aspects, like biofuels, solar cars, hybrid cars, fuel cell cars. etc etc etc. But the most determining factor will be the effort of the individuals. Each and every one of us, should use public transport system. It is relatively cheaper and makes less pollution compared to the swarm of cars.

Some of us are standing up against these prices. On May 15, 2007 there is going to be a "gas out". On May 15, 2007 do not buy any gas. Let the supply and demand system work like it should. If the 73,000,000+ US interenet users all stay away from the pumps just that one day the Oil companies will drop almost 3 BILLION from their average daily sales. Take a stand and protest these prices by passing this along.... "NO GAS ON MAY 15,2007!!!!

Last year all the Natural Resources Campaigns claim the Scientists estimate only 20 years left of oil world wide...
So We need to use alternative energy and get it into the mainstream as fast as we can, and most of all make it affordable to everyone.
I saw this article about how They modified a sterling engine to generate electricity from sound, they use it on the NASA space craft.
If this sort of technology and how to make electricty from hot and cold air flow could be implemented into our vehicles as well as electricity from spinning magnets, and even tires themselves rotating...
Really the future may not need fuel at all. There is also solar power, and batteries... and Fuel Cells technology...
The only way these technologies are going to get affordable and into mainstream is if someone how there makes it easy to get ahold of, and if the gas and oil companies stop trying to block it from mainstream. This will NOT put the gas and oil companies out of business, However it will stop taking off the high demands and low supplies and push gas prices back to affordable as well as give the earth time to resupply and process to naturally make new oil .... The problem is like many other natural resources. Some are fast reknewable and some our not. This time around if we are going to use a new fuel we need to use it out of some reknewable resource.. Ethanol looks wonderful at first, but I believe this even is a short term answer... . Fuel Cells technology seems to be the way to go. Many also run their vehicles on vegetable oil, but do NOT directly stick that into your gas tank without installing the special kit for it, as it needs to be heated and processed just right.. or it can really ruin the engine....

I do believe our governments are making too much from the production of oil to want to begin looking into other means of energy. Even now George Bush senior is making big money deals with the Saudis the only stand to benefit their family long after a Bush is in office. I was just having this conversation with someone about the gas price never dropping down to where it started and every year it only increases anyway. With this pattern in place next year we stand to pay 6 dollars or more a gallon. Not a good looking future...
