Ohh blimey .. both yesterday and today the air outside has been/is pungent with the heady stink of rapeseed oil flowers .. They look very pretty .. but I simply cannot tolerate it .. it makes me so dizzy and nauseas .. I've got two big air cleaners running inside but I've just had to walk outside for a few minutes .. and I quickly had to come in again before I fell over .. ohh lorrs .. it's really, really bad this year .. we've no wind to speak of and the low mist never cleared yesterday or yet today .. so the stench of the flowers and the effects of the pollen is trapped near the ground ... Thank goodness the flowers don't last for too long .. as I've got 17 HUGE fields of the stuff growing in an arc within a mile from here .. my neighbour (also allergic to it) was sitting out in her garden with a can of oxygen and a face mask on .. poor woman .. so I've handed her one of my air cleaners over the hedge .. at least she can sit near it and get some relief .. Sigh .. everything is spinning .. and I feel .. eugh!! Flippin' stuff .... do you have this crop growing near you .. do you find it makes you feel ill ??

Oh no! My poor friend, must be a nightmare for you, you suddenly feel trapped in your own home, from now till the end of September is horrendous for people suffering with hay fever etc. I usually get it at the end of the Summer, different type of tree or plant that is around September time makes my eyes stream like crazy. I too live near the countryside and thankfully oilseed rape doesn't have the affect of me, but there are many fields around here with this stuff, looks pretty for those us that don't suffer! Do antihysterines work to counteract their effect?

Luckily I have never had hayfever .. I think it's something to do with the oilseed rape being such a strong smell .. and of course fibro sufferers are sensitive to smells, sounds, light etc .. The strong smell knocks my sensory 'balance' for six .. and that's why I feel nauseas and giddy .. Luckily when the flowers die back a bit in a few days time the smell will be no where near as strong and I shall be 'back to normal' again .. Sadly .. antihistamines can't help (as it's nothing to do with the pollen levels or anything similar) and in fact I can't take them anyway because of my other meds ..
