Green Tea... Is This Beneficial?

Have you ever taken Green Tea, and if so, for what purpose? Did you wish to lose weight, lower your sugar level, use it as a cancer prevention, lower your cholesterol, or did you use it for general benefits, such as cleansing your system or skin? Please share your experiences with me, as I am thinking of using it for most of these benefits. I would just like your opinions on whether it was beneficial or not, and how you thought was the best way to take the tea... with honey, as it is, or another way?

Green tea ..it is sour .. Without sugar or any other sweetening agents it is awful. I am not sure about its tall claims as to the curative effect on cholesterol and diabetes.

I use a sweetener, or I believe you can add honey to make it less sour tasting, and I sure hope it will stand up to all the claims about its healing properties. Thank you for your response and brightest blessings.

I sure hope it is beneficial! I drink green tea practically every night. And we are talking about *pots* of green tea here. Lots of health benefits, I do hope these expert claims are real. If not, I would have been drinking for nothing. :P

Oh Wiz... don't you feel the benefits? I don't know if I shall drink pots of it as I already take a three-berry juice which also helps with digestion, as does green tea? Hmmmmmmmmm, how many trips to the bathroom can I manage in one day? lol. Thank you for your humorous response my friend and brightest blessings.

This is just so funny pal . I just asked you for your advice on green tea in an earlier discussion of yours that I responded too , I got green tea with mint , I made it with the kettle that had been boiled and left to cool down a bit , I then added it to a bag and stirred it for a wee while . it tasted quite horrible , I left it too cool down a bit than drank it , So can I have it with sweeteners, is it better col or hot? is there any less benefit cold or hot , ? I would really appreciate any help I can get , thanks in advance pal , I am off to make a cup before I answer another of your discussions xxx

I'm on medication that makes me feel so thirsty. I drink a lot of ordinary tea, but I heard that Green Tea was full of antioxidants and cancer fighting stuff so I drink lots of that too. I have it "au naturel", with nothing in it. It does get a bit boring after a while, so i'll switch back and forth between that and ordinary tea. lol

Yes, it is supposed to contain many healing qualities, which qualities I would like to try it for. I have ordered some and it should be here any day, but I wondered if anybody had found personally, that it helped them. Thank you for your response and brightest blessings.

Green tea is supposed to be very rich in anti-oxidants, things that are supposed to reverse the aging process in humans by reducing the creation of free radicals in the body. I was once served Ginseng tea by a friend, but it tasted really weird. Not only was the taste weird, it left me feeling light-headed, a bit! I stumbled to my feet, mumbled a 'thank-you' and disappeared from the scene! I have never had Ginseng tea ever since!

When the green tea was out in the market, i stopped dinking the black tea. Health experts have been telling us that green ones are healthier than the black ones in terms of its anti oxidant properties. I preferred drinking the green tea because of it's lighter taste compared to the black's fuller flavor. I learned too, that black tea may have contained much caffeine than the green type. To sum up, here are just a few medical conditions in which drinking green tea is reputed to be helpful: cancer rheumatoid arthritis high cholesterol levels cariovascular disease infection impaired immune function

Yes, you have reiterated all the things that I found out, and since I took the plunge and started drinking green tea at least three times a day, sometimes up to five, I have felt more vibrant, have less trouble with an aching knee and I just feel so much better in all respects of the word. I have been taking it now for about seven or eight weeks, and will never revert to black tea. I love the one with a hint of jasmine, and think I will stick to that. I believe green tea can also be used externally... that will be the next thing I look into. :) Brightest Blessings and thank you for a detailed response.

I have ordered some, MLGB. I want it mainly for the antioxidants and also for weight loss etc. I already take Mangostein, Acai and Gobi Berry Juice (mixed) and that helps a lot with certain aspects of health but I'm a bit worried about the bowel movement, as you say because both Green Tea and the Juice work in a similar way. lol. I'll have to buy plenty of books or magazines to read in the bathroom. Thank you for your enlightening response and brightest blessings.

I've tried it . Whatever be the medicinal properties it might hold , I simply dislike the taste of it .

I prefer the one with jasmine added. It gives it a slightly nutty flavour. I think the secret is not to overbrew it, because it then becomes bitter. I brew mine for just two minutes, no more, and it's very light in colour.

i do drink green tea in the morning..but i'm not sure about the health benefits of it though. i don't get sick that easily so maybe that's one of green tea's benefits? lol. coz i heard it's kinda of an anti-oxidant too. i'm not too sure, but it tastes good! :D i take it the way it is, plain..without any honey or sugar etc.

I've tested a few, and the one I like most is the one with jasmine. It has a kind of nutty flavour. You're right, it's an antioxidant, as well as having qualities which keep blood sugar level and cholestoral levels down, as well as preventing, reducing, and possibly neutralising the free radicals, which contribute to several diseases, cancer and heart disease included. Free radicals also speed up the aging process, so you could say that green tea helps slow this process. Other traditional uses of green tea include treating flatulence (gas), regulating body temperature, as a stimulant, promoting digestion, and improving mental processes. Brightest Blessings.
