What happens to DOUBLE postings of the same discussion of the same user?

Occasionally, I see double postings from the same mylot user with an exactly the same discussion with the exact image attached (or sometimes, the other post does not have a photo with it)... posted seconds apart. It is often a computer glitch and not intentional, I know. I experienced responding to a discussion and my response was submitted twice. This happened 3 times in the past. And I found that I got deductions from my number of posts. I also participated in 2 discussions which I later found to be posted twice by the same mylot user. Guess what, I got deductions from my posts and earnings too after some time. Now, I wonder if the double posts got deleted along with the responses of other mylot users. This may be an isolated case, but this can happen to others as well. It's just a bit saddening for the responders of that (double) discussion. They did not violate any mylot regulation but they will get earnings deduction still if/when the double posts got deleted. So my lesson learned here, is to check first that you are not responding to a discussion that was posted twice. Thought I would share this so we can all avoid unnecessary deductions. Also, please don't blame the one who posted the double discussion. They seemed not to be aware of the fact too. And glitches do happen. Goodluck guys! :)

I think it is not intentional to do it. If double posting occurs, all the members who reply to the discussions will be affected, they may have theri earnings deducted, that is why we se our earnings drop suddenly as mylot is doing the adjustment at that time. In fact, you may also reply to the same discussion twice as there are so many discussions in mylot and you have replied to so many of them, something entice you to reply may reappear again , may be you will forget you have already replied to it and drop another one again, in this case , I think the members who start the discussion will not get any credit from your replies.

yeah, double posts afects both the discussion started and the responders. however, for double responses... only the responder gets affected. i don't think the starter is affected too. thanks for the reply! :)

i had double entries in posting but i never knew if my earnings were deducted. one way to avoid double posting of discussions is to preview you entry first before submitting it. by previewing you can still edit the contents of your discussion.

I think mylot identifies all such post and give points accordingly, so all such post and responses are taken care of by the mylot team... so i don't we need to worry about it, but if we do, we need to notify mylot about all such post and they will take care of it...

It happened to me the other day. I was responding to a discussion and was having major technical difficulties. I went back to that discussion to find I had some how posted twice. oops. I felt silly. When I went back later in the day to see what other people had written, my second post was gone. So I suspect some where along the line, mylot noticed a double post and got rid of the second one. As far as my earnings, I didn't pay attention. But we are only talking like 2 cents here, so no big deal in my eyes.

I can share with you, that this happened to me a couple of times. The first time it was because of a technical problem and the second time, it happened because i just forget i already reacted to that discussion. I can tell you that we are all human, and those things happen. I just did apologized at the post for doing that mistake, and about the technical problem that caused the response, to show up twice, i just send mylot support a letter, telling them what had happened, and asking them to erase one of the posts. They did that very fast, in about five minutes time, and nothing happened. But i did notice responses and posts that were opened up one after the other, about five times. And, when i looked when the post was opened, it was a time range of two to three weeks ago, that means that those people did not do anything to erase the. and that is a pity, because it really looks bad on their profile page, and it seems like they do not really care about it.

i think for people starting 20 or more discussions a day or responding to 50 or more discussions a day wouldn't have the time nor the inclination to go back to the posts and notice if it's a double post or not. that's saddening... then these people would ask why their earnings are still low or was deducted...

Occationally i have done some doubles, not intentionally though. It may be due to long rfesponse list i forgot if i have responded to my friend , and sometimes its due to mylots fault i have seen that i have the same post as double response, i dont know how?

yes.. you do notice it don't you? i came across two same discussion created by two different people.. and two different type of post of course... but the title is the same.. i think it doesn't make a difference.. thast's what i call spamming.. they just don't have any more topics to go on.. and usually.. their topic is more like chatting.. instead of discussiong something more educational to others..

Mylot will consider only one response even after posting two responses for same type of topic. So why you are wasting your time just. Better you avoid double response. Double posting may be due to system fault also. It may not be because of user.

Interesting topic of discussion! Well as you said it is because of computer problem, I too ended up with double postings of the same topic under same discussion , consecutively! And I have seen such double postings many a times in others discusssions also! But I am nort realy sure if we are pelalised for this type of posting as we are not doing it delierately! I am not even aware of the fact that the second posting helps in increasing our scoires and earnings too! Since you have given the information, in future if at all any such error occurs then I will carefully watch for the repurcations! Personally I feel Mylot people are quite cooperative and generous and for such errors which are not in deliberate nature they will punish any member unnecessarily! I think we shopuld directly post a private message to them a clkarification , in case such thing happens, what are the repurcations we may likely to face? Thansk for stsrting such a nice topic! All the best!

some who experienced this have their posts deleted, along with the responses to it. if you responded in this discussion, your earnings and posts will decrease. :)

If the occurances that u have nioticed are there, then it must be that there are lot of validations. in case of double post also, then all the persons who are replying to it must be affected. I have not notiv=ced this yet. may be i was not so much attentive. But i think same post by same user must be deleted first.

yes, some double posts gets unnoticed if they appear separately in the discussion board, when posted seconds apart. but some appear side by side with each other. i hope mylot has a way to detect a double post before someone replies to it. coz when the post gets deleted, so are the responses to it. if you responded in a discussion like that, unfortunately your posts and earnings will be decreased too.

We generally know it happens, but we can't do anything about it. When our or the mylot's computer glitches, we're stuck

is this allowed? people who do this should be warned.. but of course in a decent way.. maybe they themselves are not aware that it is not allowed..

often, it really is a computer glitch and the poster didn't notice until their discussion is already posted twice. :)

I haven't been in touch with this program. But I think that it may be some kind of a glitch. Never the less it might be some person who can't make more that one discussion that generates a lot of interest so he posts it twice. Anyway be careful :)

I have done double posts too because of connection problems. In order to avoid for double posts getting deleted and affecting the respondents in the process, I would suggest that the one who started the discussion clarify that the other one is a duplicate and that replies should be posted on the other one. In that way, only one will generate discussion and the other one, even if deleted, will not affect anyone. We always check our posts anyway, at least I know I do immediately.

good of you if you do that...:) but for others doing 50, 100 or even 150 posts a day... i'm not sure if they stil go back to the discussions they responded to as well as the ones they started.
