Yes, I have had that problem and I was also told it was an irritated nerve. You might try some very gentle stretching and see if, once you have done it for several days, you get some improvement. I was also told t use a shower rather than a bath, and let the water hit the area that is irritated.

I worked in assembly production for many years and have had my share of neck pain! Nerve pain will produce a burning sensation. If you also have numbness, weakness, or tingling in your arms and fingers then you may have a pinched nerve. If you have these symptoms you should see a doctor to avoid further nerve damage which can be irreparable. I would suggest visiting a chiropractor first, one that uses a gentle technique, not the twist-and-yank method. If that doesn't help, along with some gentle stretching exercises and the warm showers recommended above, then you may need further evaluation by a specialist.
