Are humans the 'end of the line'?

With so much discussion about evolution, I began to wonder if anyone might care to speculate on the FUTURE of humankind through evolutionist theory conjecture.
As we look upon humans' (alleged) evolutionary PAST, we see how very drastically different we've become from what we started out as! Indeed, according to evolutionist theories, we began as a one-celled life form in the primordial soup. Then, over billions of years and many, many, many adaptations, all life as we know it came to be...including those life forms we know were once here but are now extinct (i.e., dinosaurs, etc.).
So.....who's to say that another, completely different life form won't one day replace what we now know as "human beings"? And, who's to say what new capabilities, talents, skills and powers the new life forms might have? Or what they'll look like? Etc., etc.!
What do YOU think?
