I've been a soda addict since I was in grade school. I couldn't eat my meals without soda. Every time I feel thirsty, I drink soda right away. I was in college when I found out I have hyperacidity. Now, I'm working on a night shift. Most of the times I drink soda in order for me to stay awake. I'm just worried maybe by doing this I might causing my hyperacidity to worsen. What are the alternatives for soda that can help me stay awake?

I think you already know the answer to your question. As for me, I barely drink softdrinks because it also gives me hyperacidity and bad skin.

soda i assume is fizzy drink and it is horribly bad for you. It destroyed your teeth like any high suger foods and yes, its not good for hyperactivity as the suger will cause highs and crashes in your suger levels leaving you exhausted. complex carbs are great for slow release in energy so its better to have those than foods high in sugar. I can imagen it can be hard to stay awake during night shift because your going against your natural body clock but the worst you can do is use foods and drinks that cause quick highs as i said previously you are left with crashes and its not good for the body. Just try getting enough sleep inbetween shifts (at least 8 hours) and east complex carbs to keep your engery regular.

If you are drinking caffinated soda on a regular basis, you are indeed creating hyperacidity in your digestive track which can cause you to eventually develop an ulcer. Try to wean yourself off soda by switching to something else like ice tea or herbal tea or just drink ice water. Soda is not only bad for your stomach, it's bad for your teeth as well.
