How do you name your pokemons?

Most people I know are not content to just let their favorite line-up have default names like Bulbasaur or Pikachu. In fact, they spend a lot time thinking of names, even going as far as making researches. But what I usually notice about them are that they pick a theme, to name the entire line-up. I have a friend who is an English major baptised his line-up as figures of speech: Apostrophe, Metaphor, Simile... It makes me smile in our battles when he calls forth: The enemy's weak, get him Hyperbole! (his pikachu) Another friend named his characters after greek gods, and another from characters of his favorite fantasy books. I'm a sociology major and I named mine after well-known philosophical and political (and sociological) figures. Marx, Durkheim, Habermas, and Nietzsche... How do you name yours?
