Me time...Do you take any?

As a parent, how important do you think "me" time is? Do you try to schedule yourself a little "me" time during the day or during the week? What is your favorite way to spend this special time?

I have heard of this "me" time before and as my friend here on Mylot, I really think you need to explain it to me. I have searched high and low for this elusive creature. I fancy myself to be a kind of "hunter" if you will of this rare and oh so beautiful creature. But as of date, I have been unable to spot it. If anyone can tell me the whereabouts of this "me" time, it would be greatly appreciated, perhaps even handsomely rewarded !!

I think "me" time comes when the children are grown LOL!!. My oldest is moved out and on her own. My other child is a teenager. So I do get lots of me time. I am loving it :) :) When they were little there wasn't alot of me time.

I wish I had me time during the day, but my 4 1/2 year-old does not nap, only his younger brother, which means that the amount of time I get to my self during the day is very limited. I like to stay up late after the kids go to bed to either watch tv or sit by the computer. My husband does not understand this, but then again, he says I cannot get any me time until July, so I will take what I can get, even if it has to be, when everyone else in the house is a sleep.

I do, but I am home and all my kids are grown. For a young parent, try to nap if they do. Try to get hubby to feed them dinner so you can take a long bath. Get Grandparents help so you can get your nails done. Good Luck!

My daughter is already 8 years old, so it is a bit easier for me. During the school season, I will have 'me time' after 21:00 when she goes to bed. Unfortunately during the summer/winter vacation, I don't really have 'me time' as she is the only child I have and likes me to be with her most of the time.

I don't generally have 'me' time, but I do schedule in 'our' time for my husband and myself. We take either friday or saturday night and have date night. We go out for cocktails and usually dinner. We don't usually stay out too long, but a few hours of adult time is very essential in our relationship.

I try to have alittle time for myself every day. It usually is in the evening after the kid is tucked in. I like to take a bath and just relax.

I take time out for myself every day. I usually take my knitting with me and go to the cafe, where I have a really good cup of coffee, and work for a while. I'm finishing up a scarf, and then I'm going to start a baby blanket for a friend of mine who is having a little girl, in a few days.
