Would you rather have the death sentence, or life in prison?

Let's say you committed some horrible crime, okay? Would you prefer to spend the rest of your life in prison, or would you rather have capital punishment? Some say the death sentence is killing you instantly, some say life in prison is killing you by degrees. Which is worse and more inhumane, do you think? If you had to be executed or stay in jail for the remainder of your life, which would you choose?
I'm not sure how to answer this. I feel the pros and cons of both, and I find it too hard to think about. So I'm just looking for the opinions of others. :)

I think i would have opted for prison life. I tell you why.
Why people think that prison is a prison. If your conduct id good for some years you are trated with much respect and a few demand of yours are satisfied. There are lot of things i would like to do in prison, one of which is reading books and enriching my knowledge.
I can write things, i can write a book. Let me tell you , Adolf Hitler wrote his autobiography "Mein Kampf" when he was in jail! I love writing, and its one of my dream to write a book.
There are lot of avenues open. You just have to think a litle bit different that what i think. If u think like you are a prisoner you will never get the other side of the coin, instead think differently as i just gave some thoughts, who knows you can acheive something you were unable to acheive in your life outside prison..!

I'm like you I don't like to think about anything like that, but just in the hypothetical stance that it should happen I think I would rather be executed. Life in prison would be horrible knowing that all of your privilegs have been taken away and you are being watched 24 hours a day.

Well I guess it would depend on what exactly my horrible crime was....really the only "horrible" thing I would be capable of would be murder and never anything to do with elderly or children so I'll take the prison time...
