What's the Point of Content Special Offers?

I used to try to write for the content special offers because it was a guaranteed offer of a minimum. Usually at least $8 or $10. But the last couple, I wrote articles meeting their standards, yet I was offered less than the so called minimum. So what's the point of the special offers if they won't follow through anymore?

I think that they just do the special offers so they will get the kind of articles on there that they want to see on there. The good thing about doing the Special Offers is that if they run a special offer on something, they make a section on their main page devoted to the pieces submitted for it so you're more likely to get more visits and make more on the bonus.

That's a good point. I already got a comment, so I got at least one visit.

I have had this happen to me, even when I put the CSO in the subtitle line. The last offer, for $8 for product reviews, however, they did pay what they offered, but I noticed that they adhere to this less when it comes to regular articles on topics they suggest. I guess they think it's negotiable, unless they are very specific. The product review offer only was available for a few days. They sent out the message on a Tuesday or Wednesday, and the reviews were due by Friday. Usually they give a longer time frame for their special offers. I totally know what you are saying, so I would just say, you might as well write what you like.

Yeah, I generally do only write about what I like. Especially right now that I'm not really saving for anything. There have only been a couple times, but still... it's annoying when you think you'll get $8 to write a nice review and get less. To me, $8 is already low. But sometimes I'll just take it when I need some money.

I have not had any issues with their last ones. Got 8 bucks for my product review thing. I guess I wouldn;t be able to judge you as getting the short stick without having read your articles to see if what you say is true...however I have noticed a major slow down in the way AC operates anymore.

Judge for yourself, this one got $5 something: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/203529/twolevel_superpet_large_guinea_pigdwarf.html And this one got the $8: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/206857/litter_boxes_for_rabbits_superpet_hicorner.html

I'm new to AC. Registered in Jan but didn't get started until the end of Feb. I submitted an article for the $8 product review contest and put it in as non exclusive. They rejected it with a note in order to get the CSO submit as exclusive. Well, I did that and it immediately said "processing" instead of "submitted" so I thought I was good for the $8. After reading this I'm not so sure. They might pay less if they don't reject it again. It'll be interesting to see.

It might be past the CSO deadline now. Generally, they have paid what they said. But a couple times, they have not.

Just did the latest promo there for something you can't live without. Got the $8.00 they said they would pay me. If they paid me less I would not have been happy. They say you have to mark the article properly, if you did I would complain and see what they say. It stinks if they gip you on your earnings. It's not like they are paying a fortune to begin with.

I did put CSO. I've been with AC for 2 years, so I know how they're picky about stuff. But I've had this happen to me a couple times now. Sometimes, they've even published the article and left the CSO there!

Did you put CSO in the sub-headline? If not, that might have been the problem. Best of luck.

Sure did. I'll see what happens with my other articles for this offer.
