How Many Feel That Online Banking Is Safe?

I feel less stress about doing most of my banking online. I can pay my bills in the middle of the night. I can copy my bank statements for free. I can see my checks that have cleared. I can see items that have been charged to my account. I can catch unauthorized charges a lot easier. However, this identity theft thing causes me some concern. I am also very quick to shop online and give out my bank information. Although, now I am a lot more careful. I will go to the BBB online if I am dealing with a new or unusual looking site. They have done a good job recently of updating their security systems and codes. I feel pretty confidant about using the convinent service, but there are times when I wonder. Last month, I got a charge on my account causing me to be over-drawn. I panicked, because I knew I had adding everything just perfectly. I was able to find the number of the offending company with just one click at my account. When I called, the number was disconnected. I immediately called my bank and let then know that I wanted to dispute the charge. Everything was settled with no problem, but it left me with a very eerie feeling inside. The over-draft fee had posted and I wasn't sure whether or not they would actually remove it, but they did. Has anyone had any real problems with online banking?

I and my husband do a lot of online shopping, specially from Amazon.com. We do check our bank account, credit card account and pay bills online, all this has become so easy with online banking. We till date faced no problem. Its always better to shop on secure sites and verify on the site before providing any information. I feel online banking have changed our lifes, everything has become so easy:)

Actually, I have been doing online banking for years. I have found that the best thing to do is sign out of your account before closing the window. I never like to rush when doing online banking and purchasing. I like to take my time and be sure it is right.

This discussion interests me because I have been thinking of doing online banking too. I thought about the comfort of shopping and banking online but the worries of security always bugs me. This means that I have never done any transactions online involving use of my accounts, although I've been wishing to do so. So far, your discussions' replies seem to sway me in the positive.

I love my online banking. It's so convenient. I don't enter my debit card transactions into my check book so online is great for me to keep track of where and when I used my card. So far, *crosses fingers*, I have not had any problems with online banking. I use it a lot too.

I don't like to keep records of transactions laying around either. That is another plus for online banking. It makes life run so much smoother. I am glad that I have not heard about any problems yet.
