you should have your pap smear at least once a year. all sexually active women must have a pap smear to check on things that are happening right down there. it is better to be safe than sorry since cervical cancer can easily occur to us women.

Once you hit 18, whether you are sexually active or not, you should have one. I'm not sexually active, but I know it is really important to have one regardless. I guess though if a woman is sexually active there would be more fear of an STD, like the one that can cause cervical cancer, as you mentioned.

I go for mine every year. When I was pregnant with my daughter I had an abnormal pap. So every since then I've been paranoid and I won't miss one. Luckily after I had my daughter my pap came up normal again and they all have since then. But I would rather not take any chances.

You are supposed to have a pap smear every year. Of course, you are SUPPOSED to have one every year. I'm two years past when I should have had one. I hate them so much. I'm just going to have to grit my teeth and bear it though. It's just not healthy not to go in for that kind of check up.
