It depends on the item that you are buying. Sometimes things go up in price and by the time we collect money to buy it the increase in price is more than the interest that we would have paid. Now so many shops are offering things on zero interest when you use the credit card so it is OK to exploit it. I recently bought my son a camera phone on such a scheme.

i use to buy stuff through my credit card but now i use my debit card and i put interest on myself.good to hear that there are people like me who wants to buy it in cash. a lot of people fall into the trap of credit. i only use it if it is an emergency.

Even i plan a same way, i prefer saving the amount for my perchase and then buy things. My husband is complete opposite to me,he makes all his purchases through credit cards.

I don't either. The reason is that to pay on installment basis likely means that I will have to pay more. This is because typically the shop will include some interest on the amount that's paid. Also, it's not wise to buy too many items on credit because this is not managed propoerly and one loses his job, one could find himself in a lot of debt trouble. I feel that it's much wiser to save up for the item I want and then pay for it from there.

No I don't. I don't feel comfortable doing things on installments. I prefer to pay it off all at once. I usually go check the prices if I need any of those and see if I have the money for it. If not, I will save up till I get the money before I purchase. I feel so much freer this way. Even if the store do the no-interest installment, I still won't do it. I guess it's just a habit that I feel so much happier to actually "own" the stuff!

I basically live paycheque to paycheque so I only buy something I can afford to.I have not had any debt now in a few years despite making very little.I do try to budget every month and keep close tabs on my account. When I do need something,I can wait for it to come out on sale instead of paying regular price.Another trick I have learned is when something is on sale,I like to stock up.I think that is why my storgae closet is full.I hope this answers your question.
