I have decided since i was studying to be a gym instructor/personal trainer that along my way in my studies i would share what i am learning with all of my mylot friends. My first topic is on muscles. When working with weights to gain muscle mass you should make sure that you eat alot of foods high in protein. As much as i like it one really good source is the forever hated cottage cheese. I have learned to like it though not that bad if you learn how to disguise it lol. Also working with weight burns more calories than cardio workouts. One of the main reasons for this is because it elevates your metabolism for longer after the workout than cardio does. Dont forget that muscle is smaller but weighs heavier than fat so if the scales are going up instead of down it might not be due to get bigger fat wise but adding muscle mass. That is one of the reasons that i measure my size to see my progress because of this weight difference cause even though you are getting heavier from the muscle mass increase your measurements are getting smaller. A proper weight workout that will produce any results has to be done to fatigue the muscle. What is meant by this you continue to do reps of your weight exercise to the point that the muscles tire and you can usually tell when that is happening because you will develop a shake or a tremor type thing when trying to do the lift. Dont force beyond this point because injury could happen then. Also for a really thin person weight workouts can add form and size to your body and it looks great. If anybody has anything on this subject they would like to add i would love to here from you.

Oh I think that would be great to share what you are learning with us. Yes well if you eat too much cheese you shall put on a lot of weight, not unless you are doing a lot of exercises to keep the weight down. Yes working weights this is what my husband does but I do not recommend for me to work with weights being a woman. I did notice this that I am starting to get a figure again but my weight is not coming down that much lately maybe this is the reason for this due to the muscles that I have developed although I always had great calf muscles that my children were always saying that they could never understand for a woman of my age to still have great calf, but that is due to the amount of walking I have done in my life, and other exercises.
