can someone with idealism survive in the world of politics?

i really hope so in order for him to chance the people's thoughts about politics. politics seems now to be a dirty game, played by people who do not have a care in the world about others as longs as their selfish desires for money and power are met. we really need someone who could bravely stand up to these challenges and really serve the people.
