With what seems to be a growing amount of all you can eat buffets Do you leave a tip. At most the person takes away some plates and maybe gets you a drink.

We don't really encourage tipping in Singapore. And it seems strange that you are suggesting tipping at buffets. Don't we just get the food ourselves, making tipping all the more unnecessary? Or are you referring to those ala carte buffets where you still need to order from a menu? Whichever the case, tipping is not common here.

at the most these people make 3.00 per hr.+tips thats why they work 7 days a week,at any restrauant i leave 20% unless the waiter was rude or didn;t do his job same with a wiatress.a few times i have left nothing 0 for a tip because of poor service or because the person was a complete idiot.but most of the time these people just work for tips so 20.00 for 2 at a buffet i'll leave a fiver

I will admit I don't always. To me a tip is for 'service' but when I serve myself after paying the price of a full service resturant I don't see the point in tipping. Now, if I get a person who is extremely friendly, does and exceptional job of keeping the dirty dishes off my table then I will leave a dollar but never more.

I do not leave a tip in a buffet as most of the time I will pay the money before I can eat anything, and I do not need to pay any bills after I finished. That mean the tips have already been include as a hidden cost for the amount you have paid before the buffet. Honeslty, I have not seen any people who are so brazen that they even take the plates away, it is same as shopliftitng.

As the matter of fact there was a lady there that was putting the chicken on a stick in bag in her purse. Good point about the hidden cost too.

If they keep our drinks full and the plates cleared, yes i leave a tip. If the service is lousy then no I dont. Remember waiter and waitresses do not even make minimum wage they are exempt from those laws.
