Bamboo, a grass?

I recently learned that bamboo is a grass and not a tree? Anyone knew more about this?

surry948 no, i did not know that bamboo was a type of grass i mean it does not look like a type of grass and does not have most of the properties of grass.

surry948 i really like starwberries too, to me that is a true sign that summer is here and i personally think that they are the best fruit around...strawberries are hard to beat.
