We all know that once we have grown up and reached a 'certain age' we have to fly the mother's nest as it were and leave home and become independent or else set up with our significant other, be it partner, husband, wife, friend...

How useful are languages?

English is my mother tongue language and I have traveled else where to countries that speak it too. I have spent more than a year in Australia, a couple of months in New Zealand and three lots of a couple of weeks in the USA....
