Do you read discussion topics thats like two paragraphs long?

Sometimes I see a good discussion subject, then once I click on it, its like two paragraphs long. Sometimes I read them if I'm real interested and sometimes I be like I'm not reading this. What do you do?

Im trying to figure out what makes a top discussion a "top discussion". Who or what decides a top discussion. It can not be the number of responses because I have seen low responses with "top discussion".
