My son has a diaper rash, nothing terrible but I feel so bad!! He will sit in his poop all day long if I don't notice it!! And today I guess he pooped before (or during) his nap so when he got up I smelled it and changed him, but his bottom was so red and he was saying "oowweeee". I feel terrible, and I try to teach him to tell me when he poops but he doesn't understand yet. What diaper rash cream do you use? I love Huggies so I use theirs. Any good tricks to get rid of diaper rash?? I let him take a bath and then run around naked for awhile after that. I know it will go away soon but I still feel bad!!

I ahve always used TONS of cornstrach. Just put in the diaper and it should help! Try changing him more often than usual to (not to say that you are not changing him enough, but when they have a rash even a little bit of moisture can irrate it further)

Cornstarch was always my favorite too, but it has to be the pure cornstarch. Johnson and Johnson has a cornstarch that comes in a bottle like their baby powder and that doesn't have anything on the real thing. Get it out of the grocery section it works wonders and it will absorb almost all moisture.

When my kids get diaper rash that won't go away, I use a combination of Desitin (the extra strength one) and Ammens powder. The Ammens powder is anti-bacterial and most people use it on their feet or in their shoes. It works really well and clears the rash up within a day or two. Of course, letting them run around naked helps a lot too!!

I understand what you are going through my 14 month old daughter keeps getting diaper rash. We have tried many things. What seems to work the best for her is the A & D Ointment. Not the cream but actual ointment. It stays on better and doesnt rub off right away like the creams do most of the time.

desitin - desitin for treating & preventing diaper rash
Diaper rash really hurt our babies. Here's what I do when my son have a diaper rash I cleanse his skin with Cetaphil cleanser and apply Drapolene or Desitin cream. If you want you can put baby powder or cornstarch after the cream for added protection.

How old is your son? He can sleep even if his botom is dirty? My daughter would really scream if she will do that, but i can smell right away if she will poop so i can change her right away, except if we are traveling.I can change her right away, that's the time she will get a rash but i will put the aveeno cream and it will healed right away. You should check his diaper before or after he sleep.I have sensitive nose so i can smell easily even if my baby is a little distance from me.Try to change his wet diaper right away, don't wait for another hours especially the soiled one.

Desitin cream is the best, very moisturizing and thick.....plus keep powder down there too. rash happens when areas are moist. the cream should work really good.
