Do you shoo for books online? In my case I never had but when I do think about it I would prefer actually leafing through the pages of the book before deciding if I want it but then online shopping is always more convenient for the time constrained. so if ever I will shop for books online it will be for school books and such and not for books for leisure. how about you what you think?

I do shop for books online when I can't find them in the local bookstores. It is cheaper to buy online than to travel to the next city to buy them. I usually buy reference books online. But, these days, there are many titles which are availbale in my local bookshops, so I don't have to buy online again.

I agree with you that leafing through the pages of a book is what decides most people to buy it. Sometimes you buy a book because it was recommended to you. In these cases and also when you want to buy a book that is not affordable where you live shopping it online is the best solution.

I like both, but usually the books I buy online are ones I already know I want or by authors I have read before. Sometimes online you can get a better deal than you would if you bought in a real store. But I still love going into book stores and browsing, if I need a new book or author then I would prefer to browse through an actual store. The other thing I like about shopping online is that I love getting parcels in the mail :)

well getting parcels is fun. But here in my place they ruin the fun, they just send you a notice then you have to claim it in the post office. duh!

The books I buy online are either ones that I KNOW I want or things that are recommended to me. I'm not one to just browse Amazon or Barnes & Noble's websites to find something new to read for liesure. Those books I get either from the library or borrow from a friend.

I shop for books online, swap for them online as well too; the only negative experience I had was when I bought some books from someone on Ebay, and the books were well used; I didn't like that fact, at all, but I moved on; When I have bought from Amazon.com, I haven't had any problems whatsoever. Matter of fact, I bought a book from a seller using Amazon, as a middleman, and I had to send it back due to the fact that I was able to get the book at the library. Well, the seller refunded my money but they refunded it to a card that expired already so I called the company and they are aware of the situation.

If I do buy books online, I usually go to Half.com and try to find one or two shops with a lot of the types of books that I read, like Harliquins. That way I am saving on shipping since they're coming from just a few people. Since they are for reading I want them in at least good or above average. I read them and pass them along in our family. If I am looking for a book as a piece of a set or one I want to keep, something of value, I generally will only order them from Amazon.com or Barnes & Noble.com so that if anything is wrong with the book they are usually pretty good about fixing it. With resellers online you never know what you're gonna get.

I like to shop for books online. There are no bookstores near where I live, and when I go to the bookstore I get lost in the stacks of books. There are so many books that I want to buy. I often buy my online books at half.com or I get them at bookswap sites like bookmooch.com. I like to buy books at Amazon or Barnes and Noble. I can pay for my Barnes and Noble books with PayPal. I hate waiting for the books to come to me, but I like getting packages in the mail.

I usually buy online, but I live in a small town with no bookstore and only a limited selection of paperbacks at the grocery and pharmacy stores. When I lived in the city I loved going to bookstores and browse. Sometimes I'd come across a good book that I wasn't looking for. Online it's harder for that to happen because you're usually looking at narrow search results. Also, shopping at a local bookstore helps support the economy of the community where you live.

Yes i do most of the time. From where I'm living it's pretty hard to get the books that i want. There are some online stores that give thorough information and at certain stores even excerpts are given. I mostly use Amazon as the prices and qualities of their products are good. But I must say if the opportunity to shop normally is available, I'd most definitely use that rather than shop online.

I also shop for books online. I usually search for books that I know I already want to buy. I read the reviews and then I also go through the other books from the same category. The good thing about buying books online is you can buy secondhand books for a cheap price that sometimes, when you find out you actually don't like them, it's not so disappointing because you really did not pay much for it. I have also bought books from the book store, leafed through the pages some but still ended up getting disappointed after I have bought them.

Pros: It's convient in the sense you don't have to leave your room, or even your house for that matter. In this day and age with the internet a rising force in the economic world, cheaper prices are usually offered or special discounts to encourage people to buy online, so the books being brought usually come with some offer. Cons: Delivery fee (I guess the trade off for staying at home is this). Also purchases are usually via credit card, meaning you get charged a little processing fee (not much but it does add up in the long run) and more importantly you don't get to flip through the pages to get a sample idea of what the book really is like (this is something I always do no what it is before I put my money to it(.

I have been shopping for books online once, I swear I will not try it again. of course shopping for books online is so convenient to me, I do not have to find my books in every boookshops and I do not have to carry them heavily. Sometimes the price even lower! However, after I have received the books, it really drives me insane! The books coz of poor delivery, the angle of the books have folded and it looks like a old one instead of new! And the online bookshops said they will not be responsible for the delivery damages! wow, after that even if I need to run for my books or carry them heavily, I still shop my books Not from web!

I get most of the books I read at library books sales. On line I use half.com or trade them on a site that does that. I know the authors I like to read so I am confident to buy any not on my list I keep of the authors books that I read.

I mostly buy books online as from where i live, it's pretty hard to get the books i want. Some online shops give pretty good information about a book, at times with excerpts as well. I usually buy books from Amazon as the information about books are thorough and well described. But i must say, if i had the opportunity i would rather buy books from bookstores myself.

I too only shop for books online for school books, and books that I've read before. I usually don't do it for pleasure. For pleasure, I either go to the library, or look in a bookstore and then after seeing the book in the bookstore go buy it in amazon.com :D :D.... I guess the pros of buying a book online is that it's cheaper. You can get reviews. There's more choice. The cons, you can't really see what's inside the book. You still have to pay a shipping fee. You can't take the book home right away, you'll have to wait a few days. Also harder to return
