sometimes I'm short-tempered, I even think that I'm going to be mad, so what's the best way to calm oneself down? Do you have any good idea?

im also once short-tempered but was able to control it.. i advise to you that when things are heating up, pause for a moment and count 1-10. really, no kidding! It worked on me. After counting, think of the persons you might get hurt physically & emotionally if you burst into anger

That's true, sometimes I felt comfortable bursting into anger but later when I realized that my beloved ones were hurt by my mean words, I regret a lot. Thank you for your respond, that's really a good idea! :)

For me, the best way for me to calm down is to go for a walk. It does not have to be a long walk but long enough to get my mind off the things or people that are upsetting me. Getting a glass of water is good. Exercise is healthy and can help relieve stress. Watching a funny movie could help too. Keep yourself busy with something so that you do not have time to think about what was upsetting you.

The only way I can calm down is to clean. My house is clean, anyway. But when it comes to me being upset or depressed about anything, I tackle a heavy job. Cleaning the refrigerator is a good one for me.

I personally have learned to react inwardly so I can process whateveer it is that's made me angry before reacting outwardly. I hope that makes sense. I try really hard to maintain my frame of mind so I don't lose my temper with other people. Losing your temper causes your stress level to go up, which releases harmful hormones into your body that contribute to serious illness. Once I understood the power of anger and stress, and the havoc it could wreak on my body, I work a little harder to keep my temper under control. :)

you are really a reasonable person 'cause you know how to control yourself well, next time when I get raged, I will remind myself the way lost temper works, and won't make myself hurt! thank you jenny for responding!

I say a little prayer and think about the beauty of nature. I am grateful for being alive and tell myself that this too will pass. Sometimes this calms me downs.

Prayer is really good for one's temper though I'm not Christian.

You can't believe me but it is the truth,as we are deffirent from one another. What i do when i lose my temper is that i look for a food to eat.Is not because i love food but because by the time i will be finishing the food is going to be like a healing medicine in me.I can even ask myself what was making me angry the other time.

try taking 10 long deep breaths. that should calm you down and keep you sane.

These are the things that work for me: deep breathing (yes, it sounds hokey, but it works - take a deep breath through your nose for 4 seconds, then take 8 seconds to slowly let air out through your mouth): listening to my favorite music, and talking to my wonderful hubby.
