why headlines are mostly horrible events?

reading newspapers or watching TV,whatever media,the headline is mostly horrific or disgusting or gloomy news of this world,i guess because this kind of news is eys-catching and hence gennerates more revenue to the media.however,media needs to shoulder the proper responsibility of informing the audiences something warm,beautiful and inspiring happening in the mean time!especially in the heahline news which people pay most attention to. please share your thoughts here,what headline do you expect to read?
