Should you give homeless people money if you know they use drugs?

I was wondering because I am not trying to contribute to there habit. I think maybe giving them a plate of food would be better.

I personally will buy a homeless person something to eat. But I don't hand them cash. That way I know that what I am giving them is being used wisely. There are some people out there that pretend to be homeless to get money from others so that is another reason I always buy them something to eat.

Yeah, I would agree with you on that. I prefer to give them food than money anyday. They will benefit more from that anyways.

At this point I don't have the money to spare, but I'd rather give to a food bank or shelter than to someone I know will just use it on their habit. Not to be mean, but I think that homeless should try to better themselves and get back on their feet, and enabling their habit just won't do them any good.
